Tried that and still having the same issues , crazy smh
yeah, changing that setting doesn't do anything. Roku needs to put out a update to fix this. At the least the should let us disable IR. Most of us don't need it anyway.
Exactly this is beyond ridiculous that it's taking this long already. My tv is an Insignia Roku tv.
I have the same issue
My ac remote control is from AUX and when I turn on the AC it turns on the TV screen.Solution above did not help I have my TV on quick start.

I'm not sure if you're still having the issue but I had to put a piece of electrical tape over the ir sensor on my ac
Update from OP:
We accidentally washed the remote in the washing machine and now it works fine.
