Every time I start an app and hit the volume button up or down on the remote a screen error pops up reading "Your TV is set up to use external speakers. Adjust the volume on the connected speakers directly." However the volume buttons and adjustment works just fine. Underneath the error it says "Never show" or "Ok", but I cannot select either. There is no way to change it to "Never show". Eventually this problem goes away away and the "Your TV is set up to use external...." stops showing up, but any time you change an app, there it is again! And I can't disable it, or hit "ok". It won't move.
It's as if the Roku sends the error message to have the notice pop up and then doesn't know its on there as hitting the side arrow only brings up the timeline of playback. I've reset everything, updated all apps, and restarted it.
Any help?
@Albanker, that message is coming from your TV. Try using the TV's remote.
Thanks for the post.
Can you please provide us with more information about the issue you are experiencing? Can you explain your current Home setup? Do you have any external devices connected to your TV? In addition, can you provide a screenshot of the message you are seeing?
With more information we will be able to assist you further.
Thanks,
Danny
Yes, I have a Sonos playbar hooked up through the optical port of my Samsung TV. I have for years and it works fine. I cannot select any option to turn this off on my Roku. It appears on many different apps whenevr I hit volume up or down on the Roku remote. But the remote does not seem to understand this error message on the screen and when I hit left or right it just brings up other options. There is no way to select ok or never show.
I have exactly the same issue with my brand new express 4k cannot Change to “never show”
