Darkened screen problems with TCL 55US57

Looking for help with a TCL 55US57. I've had this model since 2016/17 & two days ago I began experiencing an issue of the image being too dark. As the two images show, I can still see what's on. It's just very crushed. I was thinking to purchase a T-Con board from shopjimmy, but I would like to be sure it's likely this and not bad leds. I have nothing to test them. I recorded a short video showing the issue too.

@Hawkeye4077

Thanks for the post.

Have you tried contacting TCL support yet to inquire further? I'd suggest starting there to see what options or suggestions they can provide. Each Roku TV manufacturer provides direct support for their products running the Roku OS.

You can reach them here: https://support.tclusa.com/televisions or at 1-877-300-8837.

Thanks,
Danny

Re: Darkened screen problems with TCL 55US57

I've contacted their customer support and their recommended list of things to check I already knew about and had tried. Given that others have experienced very similar problems, and within the same time frame of owning a TCL TV, there is either a design fault or the updates being put out are causing these problems and we shouldn't have to pay to have them repaired or have to buy a new TV. A TV bought in 2016/2017 should last longer than 4, 5 years.

Did you replace the t-con board? I'm having a different image quality issue than yours and am considering replacing it. Just trying to understand if that is the right board to replace for image issues! Thanks!
