Roku remotes, Roku speakers, and Roku soundbars all communicate via Wifi-direct, no Bluetooth involved at all. Roku tv's and Soundbars can accept Bluetooth from cellphones and tablets, but it doesn't transmit Bluetooth at all.

This isn't accurate. Your home WiFi has nothing to do with the remote connecting to the Roku. It uses the same WiFi protocol, yes. But you could turn your home WiFi completely off but the remote would still work.
