My tv does not have the special hdmi (cec or arc). So am using that optical wire.

Only sound i can find is using the star key, and that sound is muddy and not understandable.

No visible soundbar indicator either. Am getting ready to do a return. It is the shorter of the

soundbars. (streambar)

You only need ARC or optical to send audio from the tv to the streambar, if you're only using the apps on the roku streambar the regular hdmi will deliver both audio and video from the streambar to the tv.

still not getting any sound. picture looks fine. is there any way for me to confirm sound might be working, i just did something wrong. also, still no soundbar to show volume.
