Can the Optical cable be used to connect Roku streambar to my HD cable box?

Currently I have the Roku stick (for my non-smart TV) and would like to upgrade to the Streambar.

Right now I have Bose soundbar that is connected to my HD cable box, via optical cable, so I can get stereo sound for TV shows.

However, the Roku (stick) only uses the TV speaker.  It would be nice to enjoy stereo sound for both cable TV and Roku.

Can the Optical cable be used to connect Roku Streambar to my HD cable box?
No use having two soundbars if only one can be utilized.

Apparently @ ROKU has discontinued all devices that had Optical outputs.  What you can do is search Amazon for an "HDMI Audio Extractor" with an optical TOSlink out or for a "HDMI Switch" which also has optical out. (With a switch you can hook up Roku and you DVD Player or Chrome or whatever other sources to one TV.  The device will take the digital sound signal from the HDMI output of the ROKU and rout it to an optical connection for your sound bar - poof
