Can I use both the Wireless Speakers and another audio output method at the same time?

Question, I just received my Roku Wireless Speakers. Do they have to remain plugged in to 110v outlet, or do they charge and become truly wireless. They are working and sound great, but when I remove the electrical cord, the stop working.

It has to stay powered, wireless refers to not having a wire connection between the roku tv, or soundbar and the wireless speakers. It doesn't charge.
