Buffering problem on our new onn 24" Roku TV

I just purchased an onn 24" Roku TV. The size is just right and the picture/sound are great for our use. There is one problem with streaming lag and frequent, long duration buffering. Our other TV and our computer have no such problem - even at the same time of use with this new TV, so the WiFi signal or router is not the source of the problem.  The only solution we've found so far is to unplug the TV from power and then replug in the power --- apparently letting the TV itself "reset"?  From that it seems to be a problem of the TV not clearing it's buffer during use or even when it is simply turned off. This problem is a daily occurrence beginning on the date of purchase and continuing.

Instead of unplugging it try restarting it from Settings->System->Power.  It's still a PITA, but not as bad as having to unplug it.

If you purchased the TV from Walmart, I would return it as defective and get a replacement.
