When streaming shows and movies on any platform (Netflix, Hulu, Curiosity Stream, etc) the show will start, but I get no sound. The moment I realize there's no sound I immediately rewind to the beginning and when the show restarts the sound works fine. It does this most times I start to watch something, but not every time. One setup I have is a Roku Ultra with an LG TV and the other is a TCL Roku TV. It started doing this on *both* TVs after the last Roku software update I got 5/13/21.
Has anyone else had this problem? Luckily, it’s a quick and easy fix each time, but quite annoying.
I seem to only have this problem with Hulu. 90% of the time when I start a show on Hulu on the Roku, it starts with no sound. And the issue just started a couple weeks ago.
I tend to think it was something in the Roku software update that came in the middle of last month. I have the same problem on two entirely different setups. One is a Roku ready TV and the other is an LG TV with the Roku Ultra. I've been watching a lot of Hulu lately (binging old X-File episodes) and thought it was them, but it happens with Netflix and others as well.
Hello @IndyAmy @Ootlayorhay
Thanks for letting us know about the issue you're experiencing.
Could you try to remove the affected channel then add it back in? Make sure to restart your Roku device before re-installing it to ensure the process is successful. If multiple channels are affected, you can perform the suggested troubleshooting in two apps.
Here are the steps you can follow:

I've got a roku premier+. And a few months ago, the strangest bug came up while using the hulu app. When I start a new show on hulu, the show starts without any audio of any kind. The 3 second pre-roll for nbc/fox/whatever has sound, but once the show actually starts there is no audio at all.
Hitting the go back 15 seconds, fast forwarding or rewinding fixes the issue, but if I move on to the next episode, the same thing will happen. This doesn't happen with other apps. I've also tried removing and reinstalling the hulu app (didn't fix it) and restarting the roku (also didn't fix it). Has anybody else run into this? It's super annoying
