Audio issues with Roku Streaming Stick - audio drastically decreases/increases on its own

Info that I posted about a week ago on a thread about “[OS 11.5] Audio issues with Roku devices in my home.” There are 2 devices that have experienced audio issues in 2 separate homes.

Model no. 3810X – Roku Streaming Stick+
Serial # - YH003H647598
Device ID – C13953647598
Software - 11.5.0 Build 4235-50

Issue ID 98-450-512

Watching FOX – WTAT, but has also occurred on other channels.

Issue ID 60-450-578

Watching CBS

--------BREAK---------------------

I’m still having audio issues where volume level either drops very low with no warning or it jumps to a high level. Usually after I go back to the home page and back into the channel, audio is normal again. I had made no TV settings changes prior to or during the issues. There are no external devices connected to the TV other than the Roku stick. Below are some of the Issue IDs that I captured for 1 device. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I'm not sure if the issues are linked to the recent software upgrade.

Re: Audio issues with Roku Streaming Stick - audio drastically decreases/increases on its own

I recently witnessed something similar on my Express 4k, however, the volume did not jump, but it increased gradually, and on another occasion it decreased gradually.

How long have you been experiencing the issue? Mine may have started with a recent Roku update, but I'm not sure. Mine is still having issues as well as a relative's Roku stick is doing this as well. A few times, the audio became distorted/tinny/unclear, but when I go back to the home screen or perform the sequence to generate a tracking ID, then go back to viewing TV, audio is restored to normal.

Not sure on the time either, as I've only had my Roku for some four months. But it seemed to have only happened after the latest update, which I did a month or so ago. I don't remember seeing the issue before that update.

Re: Audio issues with Roku Streaming Stick - audio drastically decreases/increases on its own

I believe it is something with the recent update. There are a few other Roku sticks that are at a relative's home that are having the same sporadic audio issues. I'm hoping the Roku personnel will be able to resolve the issue soon.

@RokuDanny-R  Is there any info on resolving this issue? It's been a problem since October/November after an update. Audio also sometimes becomes distorted. To resolve it, we have to back out of the channel then go back to it. This issue happens on various channels, separate tvs, in multiple homes.

@Fran03

Thanks for the post.

We believe this issue has since been resolved. If you are still experiencing an issue with remote volume control, can you please provide us with the firmware that your remote is currently running? This can be found in Settings > Remotes & devices > Remotes > (Your remote) > About.

Please keep us posted and we will be able to assist you further.

Thanks,
Danny

+1 Please see my post "Roku Ultra - Volume glitch after some time - Volume glitched high or low and distorted". Same issue. Volume glitching and jumping to really high or really low. Giving "Kudos" to each others forum posts is the only way the issue will make itself to Roku's audio software engineers.
