Attempting to cast new HP laptop to Highsense Roku TV. TV Not completing process.

I am attempting to cast from my new HP laptop to my highsense Roku TV.  The computer finds the TV, and the pairing (two pears) displays shows on the TV screen.  Then at the bottom of the screen a meter starts moving from left to right, but stops well short of halfway.  It never advances, and the pairing does not happen, and therefore I cannot cast from the laptop to the TV.  I have attempt this many times, and have actually been able to complete the pairing about two times.  Please advise.

@jtonne

Thanks for the post.

We would be more than happy to look further into this issue for you but will need more detailed information. Can you please provide us the following information:
-Roku device model, serial number, device ID, and software OS/version (these can all be found in Settings > System > About)
-laptop brand, model, and current OS
-tracker ID when this issue occurs (when you see this issue occur, press the Home button 5 times, followed by the Back button 5 times and provide us with this ID)
-steps to reproduce the issue you are seeing
Once we have this information, we will be able to investigate further.

Thanks,
Danny

If your new Laptop uses a firewall (like McAfee)  turn off the firewall and try.  If that works, you will need to add an allowed range of IP address in order to cast while the firewall is on. I added a range based on an obscure post for a non McAfee firewall ( https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=228192.0 ) that works but I am not sure adding those are truly safe.  Give it a try and perhaps someone else will reply as to the specific IPs used by Roku or at least a more narrow range of IPs
