Adding Roku streaming stick to RokuTV

I have an Insignia RokuTV that has recently been slowing down over the past few months even though the system is updated and I have reset it multiple times. I still run into multiple issues - slow start up, restarting on its own in the middle of a show, slow navigation on Roku home screen. The TV is about 5 years old so I think the model might just be reaching the end of its life, but wondering if there is anything I can do.

Would adding a newer Roku player give me a faster experience (since the "processing" will be housed in the stick/box)? Or what else can I consider?

Age may have something to do with it. If you have something with a newer processor, it will make a difference.
