Hi there,
Thanks for letting us know.
- When this issue occurs, which streaming channel(s) are you watching?
- Is there any pattern to the behavior or does it seemingly occur at random?
- Could you record a brief video clip of the behavior and share it with us so we can review?
Please feel free to send me a private message with more details and I'll follow up directly to help investigate further.
Thanks,
Tanner

Was going on, does Roku even care?
Has this issue had a resolution? I have the battery ICON on top right of TV when I watch ROKU for months now. It was green now recently turned red. Is there an issue?
@Ilovesunshine50 Thanks for reaching out. If you see red in the battery indicator, this typically lets you know that your remote's battery level is low.
If you are seeing the battery indicator appearing often, please help provide a few more details so we can help take a closer look:
- What screen are you on when you see this issue occurring? Home screen, while streaming a channel?
- If while streaming, which streaming channel(s) are you watching?
- Is there any pattern to the behavior or does it seemingly occur at random? Are you touching or using your remote when you see the icon?
- Could you record a brief video clip of the behavior and share it with us so we can review?
Please feel free to send me a private message with more details and I'll follow up directly to continue assisting you.
Thanks,
Tanner
Same issue here, at this point I am ready to get my hands on the yet to be released Chromecast Ultra
I have the same issue. It appears on the home screen and on any app (Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, etc.). It is always there. White in color. Green with new batteries.
Same problem here. Why doesn’t Roku research instead of asking its paying customers?
Have the same exact model and having the same exact issue. I emailed RokuDanny-R - he told me to contact TCL. Did that, and the woman on the chat gave me hard reset instructions. When I did, I was permanently stuck at the startup screen. She started to arrange to have a technician come to my house. While I was waiting, I unplugged the TV and plugged it back in - getting the TV to finally come back up. I haven't seen the issue re-occur (yet) but it happens so randomly, I doubt it's fixed.
She told me that TCL believes this to be a software issue. Not sure how a technician coming to my place would be able to "fix" that, but...
Anyone else have any other luck with this issue? Kinda shocking that it's been reported here for as long as it has... If it was a software issue, I'd think it woulda been fixed by one of the many updates that this set appears to get...
