DataGramSocket message Is being cut short

I am currently trying to send an mDNS query message for a project, the query is showing up on wireshark and the standard query is being processed and a response  is showing up in wireshark but It seems like the time to live is stuck at 1. setting TTL to 255 doesn't change the TTL that is showing up in wireshark.
