Crash course for using youtube videos as channel content?

Hello. We have created a roku channel. We lack launch content. We have identified more than 400 videos from youtube that will help populate this channel.

Does anyone know if its possible to lease access to youtube videos?

We have every aspect of the channel created including video hosting and design.

Youtube has many key videos that we would like to offer.

I see no clear-cut purchase method for these videos other than contacting every single publisher.

Feedback is appreciated

You can't access Youtube with Roku.

I believe it's been determined that it's a violation of the youtube tos to play youtube hosted videos in a roku channel (other than the official one)

sorry, not allowed.

Re: Crash course for using youtube videos as channel content

Is this true for any situation? As in... just can't stream a youtube video directly from a youtube url?

What if the youtube video is downloaded and streamed from own server?

Re: Crash course for using youtube videos as channel content

If it is a video you have been granted the rights to stream, or content you created yourself, there is no reason why you can't put it on your own server and stream it.

Yea.. looked into this. You have to contact whoever created the video, not youtube, to get permission.
