My gut feeling is this rechargeable remote isn't offered by Roku, but some other company. I could certainly be wrong, but I can't find anything on their web site that makes any mention of a rechargeable anything. You have a point that they might expect the user to simply use an available USB port and cable the user already has. Wouldn't be the first time a company (even if it was Roku) didn't make everything clear in the ad. 🙂
Please be very careful if activating a new Roku and a number flashes up on the screen asking you to call if you need help. The scammers, and I don't know how they are doing it, have been able to put their phone number on new Roku models.
Bottom line, activating a Roku is free. Don't let anyone on the other end of a toll free number tell you must give them a credit card for continued support. This is a sure sign that it's not the genuine Roku support number.

Don't ever call a toll-free number, thinking it's Roku support. Roku has no toll-free number, and never has. Don't even get on the phone with those loser scammers...
Why don't you have customer support via phone? If you do, what is the number please.
The answer hasn't changed from all the previous responses. There is no telephone support from Roku.
What a pitiful excuse for support. I've been charged with bogus "subscriptions" and I can't get that "support" link to work at all. It is programmed to kick you off for any stupid reason, I suppose to make us all give up trying to get help.....

There is no customer support for Roku devices. You have to do it yourself or find someone in this community to help you. Roku doesn't care about their customers. One month out from creating a nightmare with a firmware update that stopped most remote controls from being able to communicate with the television (i.e. power and sound) and taking almost a week to fix it, they did it again last night. May 14th and now June 27th. And there is absolutely nothing you can do about it except throw away all your roku devices and go with another streaming service.
Roku email support has been horrible. I post specific issues and get generic responses. Anyone know if there’s a phone number to call?
1) my fault for the following:Disney renewal was $80 a year and I thought it was per month So I cancelled it. And now reinstating the membership isnt an option under manage my reservations
2) anyone having trouble streaming hbo max Thru roku? Hacks and Mare of Eastown were not loading and I got kicked off hbo max. Had to turn tv On and off 3 x for these shows to stream.
Roku does not offer phone support at this time.
The HBO Max app is terrible on multiple platforms. It's not a Roku issue. In fact, it works far better on my Ultra 4800 than my Nvidia Shield, a much more powerful (and expensive) player. But the HBO developers have seemed to only test their programming on higher end players, so if your Roku is an older Express, or just an older player in general, it might have issues. HBO doesn't seem to care how poorly their app works on all the platforms.
