I thought all of you would like to read this article:
https://www.fool.com/investing/2020/05/30/heres-why-the-best-is-yet-to-come-for-roku.aspx
Even I was taken aback by this article. I was very aware of the popularity gaining for this and other companies’ streaming devices currently or soon to be on the market for a long time before the virus even existed. But the double whammy of the unpredictable virus plus the masses of newly unemployed hordes of people desperate to cut down their entertainment costs, gave this cord cutting activity a huge boost. It’s not just for kids, cheapskates, or the streaming fringe anymore:
“……….many consumers in the U.S. and around the world are using streaming services for the first time right now, opening their eyes ( and wallets
) to a different way of accessing entertainment and news. There's no going back from that. The cable TV cord-cutting trend that started a decade ago is simply getting a secular boost right here………..No, Roku is not on course for a sharp plunge when this phase of social distancing ends. The COVID-19 pandemic was a singular event, and it accelerated an already-impressive growth trajectory, but this skyrocketing stock has a ton of fuel left in the tank…….”-Here's Why The Best Is Yet To Come On Roku (The Motley Fool)
So Roku (and all the streaming content it offers) is not going away anytime soon. Whether it’s growing presence in the Stock Market or in whatever living space it finds itself across, not only the US but the world, is now a rapidly becoming some sort of coping mechanism. A coping mechanism for BOTH frayed finances and nerves.
In my own home, I now have to make a Remote Caddy for all the new additions Roku made it possible for me to get.
My own sewn up Caddy to keep all those remotes more organized and at hand
I agree, completely. It's here for a long time. Also, the things that make you money don't get terminated
Roku's reputation is being sullied by all the bogus registration sites and actions of scammers. They really need to step up efforts to combat this.
Roku's reputation is also being ruined by it's newfound obsession with content disputes.
