It's winter and here in New England static electricity discharge from your body to metal is constant. (Yes I have a humidifier.) EVERYTIME when we discharge within 20 ft of a 65" TCL Roku, we lose whichever input we are using. The only way to get back, shutoff TV, unplug inputs, plug inputs back, turn TV on. WICKED ANNOYING!

Roku only licenses the software used by TCL on the TV. You can try rearranging cables a bit so they are not near each other, keep the power cord separate from everything else, and put the TV on a surge suppressor. And it may not be the TV itself, but some other device leaking the charge into the TV and causing it to freak out.

It's also possible the static discharge is triggering an infrared wave that the TV is seeing as a remote control function. Seems unlikely, but within the realm of possibility.

Thanks. I've ordered a longer power cord to go directly into surge suppressor, and triple shielded HDMI cables. And a can of Static Guard for the couch. 😃
