I had exactly the same experience placing an order online (with a different company). After calling and getting lost in the menus, getting disconnected, etc, I finally got to leave a VM for a return call from a human. While I waited, it dawned on me that the date was two days past my cc bill due date. Before I got a callback, I called the cc company, the auto-attendant confirmed it was overdue, I made a payment transfer from checking to cc, and the order status changed. I didn't answer the return call. Never made human contact in the entire process.
