I am moving to China, how can I get my Roku to work in China?

I haven't been to China in years, but when I was there, "The Great Firewall of China" blocked access to much of the US and the UK.  I would assume that you won't see much of anything that you currently watch on your Roku.  (If you search around you can probably find "workarounds" but I suspect most of those workarounds are easier to do on a computer.)

The Roku will work just fine. However, most, if not all of your installed channels will likely no longer work. With a few exceptions, Roku providers restrict their offerings by geographical locations. In addition, your Roku user account is based in the country you are currently in, so channel availability will differ from what's available in China. I wouldn't be surprised if there are no channels available for the Chinese market, but I have no idea what might be there.

In general, when a Roku is moved to a different country, a new user account must be created from an Internet account in that country, and the Roku must be factory reset to link it to the new account. Only then will channels available in the new country be visible in the Roku channel store. Just don't have any expectation of using the channels you use today. And again, this isn't any restriction on the part of Roku. It's completely up to the channel providers to determine where their content is available.

Thanks I suspected that would be the case.  I was hoping that with a VPN I could get around the Great Wall.  Best regards
