I've been PMing with a Roku support person about a persistent problem I've been having. He asked me to collect some data Friday, which I did. But when I try to reply to him, the forum software tells me I can't send any more PMs. It said to try again later. I came back 2 days later, but same error. I couldn't find an appropriate place to request meta-help with the forum software so I'm posting here.
Any suggestions?
Thanks, Mark
Well, if you have their username -- which I assume you do since you need that to PM -- you could tag them in a new thread here (such as this one) letting them know that you were unable to PM them.
I wouldn't offer any of the data you were going to include in the PM, just let that person know you were unable to PM, and see what they could do to resolve that so they could continue to work the issue.

In general, I know a lot of forums don’t let you PM much (or at all) until you have some threshold of public posts. This is because of PM spam bots that appeared some years ago (including at this forum.) Who knows, maybe even responding to this will help. (Of course, everyone sets those thresholds differently so I don’t know…)
Thanks I think that may have done it. After I made this post I got upgraded from "level 1" to "level 7". I'll try my pm now and if it doesn't work I'll tag him in this thread. Thanks all, Mark.
Nope, Level 7 wasn't quite enough, I still get this error:
You have reached the limit for number of private messages that you can send for now. Please try again later.
@RokuDanny-R can you ask someone to check my forum account and enable me to send more PMs?
Thanks, Mark
Thanks for the posts.
While we investigate this issue of unable to send PMs, can you please post the information that we have requested here in this thread?
Please keep us posted and we will be able to assist you further.
Thanks,
Danny
