Hello All,
I am trying to send a message to Roku concerning installing an App on my Roku. I found that CNN is an APP. So to install it I put in a code, of which I did, but then I have to select a Provider. Well Spectrum who is my internet provider does Not have an agreement with Roku. So therefore it will Not let me install the App. That is why I am trying to send a message to Roku requesting they get an agreement with Spectrum so the Apps that I want can be streamed through the Roku device.
Hopefully someone has the answer to this issue. Just want to sent an email to Roku for the requests.
Thank-you,
Dawn

If you had searched this forum before posting, you would have seen that Roku and Spectrum have not come to a carriage agreement to offer their channel, and it was removed from the Roku channel store. Supposedly negotiations are on-going, so hopefully the channel will be returned. But you will not get any comment from Roku about it, and Spectrum simply blames Roku. Personally, I have no interest in it, so it doesn't affect me. But from my past experience with cable companies, I would be more inclined to blame Spectrum.
But if Spectrum isn't listed in the CNN channel as a provider, I don't think you can blame Roku for that. CNN is responsible for their channel, and it shouldn't matter if Roku themselves have any sort of agreement with Spectrum.
Keep in mind that when something like CNN asks for your TV provider, an internet provider will not suffice. I'm just saying this because you specifically said that Spectrum is your internet provider. If you don't get CNN via Spectrum then CNN is not going to accept that as a TV provider. (ie: If you are paying for CNN, then they will give you other ways to watch it.)
Excellent clarification @Strega
You have to have a TV provider that already offers you CNN before you can activate the channel with your account. But again, that has nothing to do with the disagreement between Roku and Spectrum. If you aren't subscribed to CNN through Spectrum as a TV provider, you'll have to get it another way. One would be to subscribe to Sling TV or YouTube TV. Both can be used as a TV provider for channels like CNN.
A You Tube Tv subscription won't get you CNNGo on roku. It isn't accepted as a provider. 😞
