Another Way Of Viewing The Streaming Revolution

Very nice to resume my commentary postings and musing after a long break.  Although quite briefly for now.

I like that old black CRT TV set (or whatever that is) they showed in the picture in the article linked above.  Too bad it’s dumped in the ground outside though. 😞

I’m into videotapes and old electronics stuff, including extenders, converters and analog 4:3 TV sets (which are obsolete these days), and Miss Bianca is my favorite character in Disney’s The Rescuers (1977) and its sequel, The Rescuers Down Under (1990). I am not a Roku employee, only a user like you. ~ Jordan

End Of Streaming Already Here?

There are people out in the world that no longer feel very free with streaming.  It is becoming more like traditional pay TV every day: The Streaming TV Dream Is Now a Price-Gouging Nightmare | Opinion

".....the bigger problem is that more than a decade into the streaming era, viewers are no closer to a rational market than they were when it began........"-

I do not think so.  Cable does not offer ad supported (free) options.  You pay, pay again, plus always having a monthly bill at the end of the month.  No way around that business model.

Streaming is simply what you make it.  YOU CHOOSE whether or not to have a paid (by you) subscription.  I see nothing changed in all the time I have been streaming starting originally from a simple laptop then moving up to my own televisions hooked up to streaming devices of all kinds.

Until this basic way of paying for this access changed, what's the big deal?

And All The Rest That I Like To Discuss Here

Well, apparently my topics became just another jumbled semi related mess here.

Too bad.  Oh well.  I rather write reviews now elsewhere in my limited free time available.  Makes more sense to me and helps others far more in many other ways besides entertainment.

Roku's own loss, not mine.
