going from the Roku site to this forum

Jump to solution

Why when going from the Roku site to this forum you have to Log In again?

I log in to the regular site to check my account and then I click on the pull down menu to go here to the forum and I have to log in again, especially when I want to post something.

Isn't this redundant???

So after logging in during Mid-session it logs you out?

I would think there's something screwy with your settings or add-ons...

You can go to click the 3 line icon/Help/Troubleshooting information>>

try restart with add-ons disabled.... does this solve it?

If you sign in and reload the page does it remain logged in?

Does this happen on another browser?

Firefox is very Privacy oriented so it doesnt need much tweaking in regards to that.

You can also Refresh Firefox (to ts original state) simply reinstalling it will change little.

So, no matter where you are you have to manually login to this forum every time?

I will quit whining now.  Doesn't make sense to me but that is the way it is.

I got my Roku's in April of 2019 and been a member of the forum since then and did not know that.

Thanks

Bill

Do you log out from this forum, ever?

Because it should just keep you logged in.

You probably have cookies blocked in your browsers settings.

So its more likely to be your settings or maybe a cookie blocker

in whatever browser youre using.

It is Firefox, the latest version and I have no cookie blocker.

Case in point,  I clicked on my Roku icon which autologin me to the Roku site.  I then went to support, then to community.

At this time it says I am not logged in and wants me to login.

When I get through with typing your response, it will ask me to login again so it can post it.

Sometimes it comes up with "Authentication Failed" and I have to login again.

It what I call consistenly inconsistent.

"I clicked on my Roku icon which autologin me to the Roku site"

I'm not sure what you mean exactly. Are you saying the browser logs you in automatically?

Are you sure you were ever logged in? How?

BN, I'm logged out every time I leave my browser and go to my desktop. And I'm logged out because of session has timed out after certain period of time. In my profile under private stats I'm up to 283 log-ins. I'm using W7 IE11, when go to my email line I have to chose from 4 email addresses each time, and I have enter my password each time. It doesn't remember it.

This is the only forum I belong to with this issue. When I click on Roku, in my favorites, it goes to that page and logs me in.  When I go to Support then community, it says in the upper right hand corner "Sign in".

I log in again, then when I attempt to post something, it either says "authentication failed" or it accepts my post.  If it doesn't, I have to login again and keep doing it until the error goes away.

I never log out of anything on this site, so therefore, I feel I should never have to login so many times just to post.

As I typed earlier, I belong to other sites that have forums and use the same way to get to the forums, and this is the only one with issue.

Is this the new norm?   If it is, I will quit whining.

I experience the exact same thing using IE 11.
