Wow, that comes across as one seriously biased article. Personal loathing for OAN aside, I totally disagree with the "One America News enjoys prominent promotion as part of The Roku Channel" statement. While anecdotal, I can state that on all of my devices as well as on my mother-in-law's Roku stick, the OAN Encore listing appears in the second row of "News" and far on the right side (sic). That's hardly prominent.
If they're going to play that game, why not also go after Viacom for PlutoTV having RT and Newsmax listed?
It sounds to me like someone at FC is looking to short some Roku stock.
I agree...very biased article. Thank you Roku for not "caving"
I have dismantled this author's argument over on Twitter and am beginning to believe that he may be an OAN operative.
I had OAN for months and love it. The only thing I couldn't handle was the constant freezing and reloading.
I finally gave up and cancelled.
Same with some other channels like TCM
Have tried several times to watch OAN through the Roku channel and all it does is jump and skip every 15 or 20 seconds. It's still unwatchable even for free. I wish they would fix it. I'd resubscribe if it were watchable.
Why did they take one America news off of the live free streaming channels that was a good benefit

It's still listed on the Roku channel store, but indicates a $4.99/month subscription rate. As a guess, if it was free before, I'd say OANN decided not to continue providing their service without getting paid.
The OANN page on the independent Rokuguide site (https://www.rokuguide.com/channels/one-america-news-network-oan), which claims to be up-to-date as of January 2, 2020, indicates the $4.99 subscription price.

.
Either shut down by ROKU or they just couldn't get their app to work.
I hope they come back. I like them.
Thanks for the Article! And great to know others are concerned about this! But now they are pimping Real America's Voice?!
I just saw this outrageous source of misinformation the other day front and center on the Roku Channel, as if it was a legitimate source of news. Others here are calling OANN "far right" or "conservative", but clearly don't understand what that means. One minute they back law and order, the next they are dismantling our democratic institutions, ignoring rule of law and beating up cops with American flags? Disinformation and lies are just that. Fanatics are fanatics, cults are cults. How do we fight back?
