I just tried it again. I used a stop watch and everything. It doesn’t reset my Roku Express.

I have two roku devices I lost internet week ago got that fixed device in living room to work  bedroom will not ask for password and email put them in does nothing all I get is dancing roku

I want to disable my roku pin. When I first installed a new remote I logged into roku.com, followed the  middle instruction to check the last part which stated that pin numbers are not absolutely needed to operate. Then I hit the final button to transmit my selection. Then I selected a channel to add and attempted to add, but I kept on getting a TV screen that insists I must have a 4-digit pin. So, I am at a complete loss in trying to add any channels beyond those that were added during the installation of my new roku remote. Somehow I have to tell my TV what the 4-digit number is!!!!! How do I to that. I'm stuck. It's impossible for me to add channels. I tried to disable the roku pin option following the above instructions, but that doesn't work either. @RJ590700 please edit your post and remove your email addresses. It's extremely dangerous to post that information in a public forum, not just here.

If there's a PIN assigned to your user account, you can change it on the user web site: https://my.roku.com. Once there, you can assign a new PIN, or select from these three choices:

Always require a PIN to make purchases and add items from the Channel Store.

Always require a PIN to make purchases.
 
A PIN is not required to make any purchase or add any items from the Channel Store.

My Roku that is less than 6 months old used to work fine, but lately on Disney+ buffers until it times out, or if it starts playing in will buffer about every 5-10 minutes.  It is connected to a Hisense "smart" but the TV won't play Disney+.  They both do play Netflix.  The TV has no problem doing this, the Roku has poor picture quality and buffers about every 5-10 minutes as well, sometimes for 2 or 3 minutes at a time.

Buffering is caused by network issues, almost exclusively. I'm not discounting the possibility that the Roku itself is having the problem, but it helps to examine your network first, just to eliminate that potential.

I realize you received your Roku within the past 6 months, but please post what your exact model is. The model number please, not just the name. Roku has a very bad habit of reusing the same name on completely different hardware.

I believe it is a Roku express,  serial # is YH00GM172152.  I have reset both the Roku, unplugged it for a few minutes, then plugged back in.  I have also reset the modem and then router which hasn't made a difference.  And like I said the TV that it is stuck to the bottom of has no issues streaming netflix or amazon prime, but if I switch over to the Roku (which used to have no problem) its poor picture quality and buffers every 5-10 minutes.  I can switch back and forth, TV will be fine, Roku will not.

There are still numerous models of Express, but since we can discount the two that were just released last month, they are all similar. They only support 2.4 GHz WiFi, so we can ignore any 5 GHz possibilities. 

Roku devices, particularly the Express, are sensitive to interference from other wireless devices. I suggest checking the channel your router is using on the 2.4 GHz radio. While there are 11 possible channels that Roku devices support, only three do not interfere with one another. Those would be channels 1, 6 and 11. You router is likely assigning the channel automatically, so I suggest changing the channel manually to one of those three. If it's already using one, try one of the others. You can quickly see what channel is being used by looking at your Roku under Settings/Network. 

Also, it's possible to have a device too close to the router. If it's within a few feet of the Roku, try to reposition one or the other. At the frequencies used by WiFi, you don't need to move them far to make a difference. Sometimes only a matter of inches.

it was on channel 6 and I changed it to channel 11, but it actually only made the problem worse.  I also attempted to use the hotspot on my phone, it would not work either, so finally I swapped a Roku express I had in a different room and it worked like it should.  What can I do with this 5 month old Roku that doesn't work anymore?
