Does Roku Forum Censor Posts?

Hi All !

Does Roku monitor new posts & ditch the ones that they don't like?

I'm just curious because I've posted 5 times on this forum over the last year. Each time, I listed in the post what changes happened when a new update was issued, or a new problem that developed and how I either worked around them or suffered through them. Each asked for your advice on how to rectify the problem.

None of those posts ever showed up on this user discussion group. None had cuss words, not did they have any particular Roku bashing, other than a comment or two of what I didn't like in the new update. They also asked if any of you found ways to fix any of these new problems.

Yesterday, I posted something about the latest update and all of the changes that I've discovered. I asked if any of you found a work-around to get the Roku back to pre-update normal.

The post is no where on the forum when I either do a manual search through all posts one-by-one or if I  go to my profile and try to find it. 

Does the Roku Forum leader pull posts? (If they pull this one, I guess I'll give up on the user group.)

Your profile says "Member Since 01-10-2021", so yeah, this post and one you made yesterday show up.  Maybe your other ones are under a different account?

You should PM RokuDanny-R with your question. It does seem strange that you're a "Level 7" Rokukuian with zero posts in your profile's history. (I don't think a level could rise like that without some posts and thumb ups, answers selected as solutions, etc.).

The forum doesn't seem to be heavily moderated (in the sense of not allowing negative sentiment or venting). That adds to the perplexing contradictions/contrasts. Roku's problems seem systemic/institutional, like they don't care (like not testing updates is the default way to operate). If that were really by choice, and not going to change, why would they provide a forum for all the animals in the zoo to complain for no reason at all? (There's a few things that don't add up to me that way.).

Looks like Danny has resolved the issue. The forum does have filters that exclude some strange words. But overall I think Roku is pretty open for allowing posts that aren't always flattering to Roku. I've seen worse, far worse.

Thanks guys for explaining. Your answers make perfect sense.

I don't know why the account shows such a recent Join date. I've been a member for a long time. Computer glitch, I guess. Maybe with new joiners, there is a lag between submit & publish so the Moderators can review to be sure the post isn't spam or something inappropriate. Since the computer said I was new, maybe that was the delay. All is good now!

I understand about the filter perhaps flagging the post. Filters do a good job of keeping things healthy, even if they occasionally nuke something & send it for review.
