Cord Cutting Isn't About Saving Money-It's About Control

Here is another little gem about what is really going on behind the scenes.  This time for all of the Cord Cutters real reason why they left cable/pay tv behind:

Weird that Wired thinks it knows why I stopped paying for subscription TV service. Granted, no one likes paying for what they don't use, but having to overpay for what you don't use is an outrage. If I had to put up with one more Real Housewives this, or Sister wife that, I think I would have ate my Dish remote. So, personally, I dropped it for health reasons. I am certain I couldn't have digested that remote, let along managed to get it completely down my gullet. The bonus is that I am paying about $40 less than I was when I had Dish, and getting a lot of the same channels.

As for Locast, which by the way is apparently being advertised along with HDHomeRun, it isn't available everywhere, and it only provides access to local broadcast TV service, which can be had for free with an OTA antenna.

It's About Control. Making the switch to streaming was once a way to pay only for what you observed. Those days are long long gone.

Our reasons for streaming:

1) save money/cut the cord

2) watch shows any day, any time

3) binge watching!

4) to be trendy/with the times

Before I cut the cord, Comcast bill was almost as much as my rent! I was paying for stupid stuff that I didn't watch. I've been with Roku for 5 years and I don't miss anything about Comcast. I'm paying less now and have control of it all!
