[solved] Are you supposed to see the RokuChannel in the channel store?

I can see the RokuChannel in the iOS  app and I can also see my Roku Streaming Stick + (3810, 3811 series)  as a connected device in the app. 

But I cannot see the RokuChannel on the stick/TV. And when I stream content from the RokuChannel in the app, I am not able to cast over AirPlay to the stick.

everything is updated to the latest version  

suggestions?

My roku stick was activated from an account that was originally created while I was overseas. That account was region blocked. 

i had to do a factory reset on the stick and link it to a NEW roku account created in the US.
