jerky video in Pluto , CN, Youtube (etc?) after viewing on Prime

Jump to solution

4630X

This may have started after I became Prime member and started watching a lot of stuff on the Prime app, but not sure. Typical: I can be watching something on Prime for a while, and then back out and click on Pluto and anything I select is jerky - maybe once/sec - like maybe not buffering correctly. Always corrected by exiting and in roku settings doing system reset. Then Pluto works fine.

Any idea why and how to fix/avoid this - it is a pita!

running to 4K HDR Vizio V436-G1 (current)

EDIT: yes, happens after short view on Prime app. Also affects youtube, CN apps, not sure about ROKU ap. Buffering??? It's like it catches up every 1 sec.

200Mb/s comcast coax.

EDIT 2: I did a factory reset. That did not correct problem. I did find that going to ROKU settings system display and forcing it to 4K HDR, 30fps (which is what it was at) fixes problem. So it is a display prob after using Prime app.

EDIT 3: this ONLY happens after watching something 4K HDR on Prime Video.

No one ever answered this - tch tch.

I just got a new ROKU 4662X (4662RW) and when I initially set it up it had the same problem, however, I changed a ROKU setting:
settings/ system/ advanced system settings/ advanced display settings/ auto-adjust display refresh rate == set to ON
and the problem does not occur. I do not know it this setting was available in my old 4630X. But call it "problem solved"
