March 13, 2021 I added this channel to my selections on Roku, it's called FREE CABLE anthymTV, I tried to access it to learn more about it and what it offers and it got stuck and did not open at all on my Roku stick.
I could not get out of it, could not select another channel, nothing. I had to unplug everything then it recycled my Roku and asked me for verification code and information. That never happened before and so I am not going to use it. There must be some way of removing these channels but there isn't that option.
There is definitely a problem with this channel FREE CABLE anthymTV. I am in Canada and Roku has been working fine for many years. Just thought you should know.
The US versions seems to load and operate fine. A little quirky with back button, just plays another episode instead of letting you to read the program info. (or maybe you have to be a fast reader) Installed it just to test, not a regular user. Was able to navigate around and select shows. Also able to remove the channel with the *button.
No verification box appeared like you mentioned. Does seem legitimate though in case you had concerns. Also seems like Android TV and mobile app is in beta, so maybe this is a newer channel and they haven't worked out all the bugs. More info here as well as contact info on the bottom of their site in case you want to tell them the problems you had. Only real way for a Channel Developer to know of problems is user feedback. https://www.anthymtv.com/
Seems to be working properly on my all of my ROKU devices -- I'm also located in the US.
The US version may be working however, "quirky" describes it well. As stated, the app opens
to what I assume is the landing page and nothing else is available to the user.
That is why I posted it here, the developer needs to fix the Canadian version.
From the ratings in the Roku community which is a 3 out of 5 seems others have had
issues also. I checked your link, no reference to beta version. Also advertises as
"works just like cable". In the end, I won't be a user of it. On our Canadian version Roku
you can't remove channels at all, there is no uninstall button.

The alternative methods to Remove a Channel are located here. https://support.roku.com/article/232010488
Basically, from Roku, go to Streaming Channels or Search, type in the Channel (anthem) and a list of options should appear similar to the *button where you should be able to Remove Channel or alternative method is to use Roku Mobile App to Remove.
Maybe one of those mthods will help if you still have problem removing.
I appreciate your trying to help AVsGunnar, but unfortunately that page you suggested only applies to "Subscribed Channels" which I manage through the channels website (that I subscribe to). For all other channels that I don't use or subscribe to you can not remove them. There is just an "install" button, not an "unistall button". Thanks anyway, but there are channels in my account from years ago, it's just creating clutter.
Hi @Jetprop8,
Thanks for the post.
For more information about that channel's features and functionality, you'll want to contact the channel provider support directly to inquire further. Many channels on Roku are developed and maintained by the channel provider themselves.
Thanks,
Mary
There needs to be an "uninstall" button on your user's accounts for channels they do not wish to subscribe to or need. That is the point, there isn't one and their needs to be one. For this particular channel as you can read, I wasn't able to escape from selecting this channel and had to reboot (unplug) Roku. That is in your control.
