Did you turn it off for 8 hours? Pray to baelzabub?.......Reboot it 18 times .......then bow down and worship roku? Oh yea. Great support. Now reboot it 18 more times....change your screensaver......Is your clock set right?.........reboot and do all that again.......repeat....go shower.......nope didn't work......Well **bleep**....try repeating steps one through 4..... factory reset. its hogwash. Someday it might work.
It took me 3 times. switched to digital clock( which seems absurd by the way) 3 times i checked for updates. Under power I did a system restart... 5 minutes later both were back online. DO NOT delete the YOUTUBE or YTTV channels
Thanks, that worked. Pretty clunky, but at least I don't have to throw out my 4 Roku devices (yet).
I can find the YouTube channel but not the YouTube TV Channel, was it ever available in Roku? It should be two separate channels/apps
@ckuno24--
YouTube services are owned by Google. The carriage agreement between Google and Roku for YouTubeTV expired earlier this year. It has been widely reported that Google made several demands for changes to the Roku system and would not renew the agreement unless Roku accepted the demands. So far the two companies have not reached an agreement. Subsequently, YouTubeTV has been dropped from the Roku channel store and is currently not available to add to Roku accounts.
Meanwhile, the regular YouTube app is not affected. Google has added access to YouTubeTV to the YouTube app, at the bottom of the left hand menu.
I had the same issue mentioned on numerous threads that have been inappropriately flagged as "solved". The only thing that finally did work for me after trying everything posted by other users and Roku support was this, which I found on a random blog:
If YouTube is not working on Roku, you need to restart your device. Press the home button five times on the Roku remote. Then, press the up arrow one time and hit the rewind button two times. Finish by pressing the fast forward button twice. This will force a restart.
Thanks for your input, but @ckuno24's question was not about inability to run YouTube but was a question about whether YouTubTV should be present in the Roku channel store.
Next time you want to restart your Roku, give Settings > System > System restart a try.
