The YouTube app should still be there.
If it is, go to YouTube and on the side, scroll all the way down to YouTube TV. That's how I've been accessing it for months and it works perfectly, at least for now.

Roku is able to grant your wish. In fact, Walmart was selling them for $15 on Black Friday. If you prefer a fancier one, that's fine too. After I bought my first laserdisc player, I liked it so much that I bought Pioneer's "Ultra" LD player for $2700. (Actually, that was their 2nd best model but it was close enough for me.)
So you can go fancy if you wish, but you could "get by" with a $500 LD player, and you can "get by" with a $20 streaming player. Whatever floats your boat.
Either way, these days you can get a lot of TV hardware for very little money.
I received the firestick yesterday. Got all the apps we used setup. I like that you can connect bluetooth headphones/buds to the firestick and the sound switches between the home theater system and the headphones seamlessly. It seems to use just a little more upload bandwidth. We have DSL internet and only have 1.5mb upload bandwidth. So far I like the firestick. Will be testing today with Netflix, Youtube TV, Amazon Prime, Disney+ and Vudu.
Sounds good.
We prefer wired and I see that you can buy ethernet dongles for a few bucks plus the sticks are cheap. We had to buy the Roku Ultra in order to be able to watch wired so the Fire Stick is a much better option.
Vudu app on firestick does not allow you to buy/rent a movie like the app does on Roku. You have to go to the Vudu site on phone or computer to buy/rent. Not a deal breaker. Volume level is lower on the firestick than the Roku. Just have to increase volume. So far, firestick is performing good.
