Recently, maybe since 1/19/21 update but it seems longer, my YouTubeTV app and Rokus appear to be incompatible. I have FOUR different TV/Roku/YouTube systems, and the same thing happens on all of them. After (re)installing the app, everything is fine for one to two days, then the pauses and timeouts start and get worse until it is unwatchable. Removing the app from any of the four setups, then reinstalling, solves the problem for another one to two days on all of them, of course you have to sign-in again on each system to use it.
Interestingly, I also have the Fire TV stick on one of my Roku TV setups, and have had no problem using the YouTube TV via the YT app I installed there (even when the Roku installation is acting up).
I can't believe it but this actually worked!!!!!!!! I'm thrilled. Thank you so much!
My YouTubeTV on Roku doesn't crash. Roku won't open the YouTubeTV. Roku puts up a box saying I should remove some installed channels, that there isn't enough space. I have jetisoned many channels, but it still won't open. I also have trimmed down my YouTubeTV live channels and library. Is anyone else having that problem? I upgraded my Roku within the year, and subscribed to YouTubeTV last July.

Have you tried the "clear cache" and "disconnect (for 1 minute)" tips mentioned earlier in this thread?
UNHAPPY... Roku Express from April 2019. YouTube TV and other streaming services either buffer forever or will not play. And if they do, picture terrible. Internet also seems to drop. We have high speed internet, and we check it often. We also have a brand new Netgear Nighthawk with satellite.
We cannot use the TV for viewing on the roku. We are frustrated. Please advise - and if we do not hear back from you, we will consider other product vendors for this replacement. No way to get in touch other than this area. We own 2 other roku sticks that are all newer as well.
Your issue is with Google, not Roku. Only Google can resolve whatever they did to YouTube. Roku hasn't had an update for any device other than the 4800 since December, so they didn't break anything.
The YouTube TV might be google, but the other streaming services, plus the internet not holding is Roku. Does not solve anything....
I suggest checking your router to see if it's changed its WiFi channel to one unsupported by Roku. On 2.4 GHz, it must be channels 1-11. On 5 GHz, it must not be a DFS channel, so any channel below 49 or above 148. Most routers are set to auto-select channel, and they can and will choose one of the unsupported channels without your being aware.
Still not working. We have been fine for over a year now it is not working. Tried the fix still not working.
Still not working ours has been fine now I am having issues.
