-steps to reproduce the issue you are seeing: Try to launch the YouTube channel. Nothing happens for a while. Then the screen goes blank. No keys on the remote work, you can't get back to the Home screen. Then the device reboots.

here is buffering since the upgrade, ONLY IN YOUTUBE APP, i already uninstall, reinstall, factory reset, updating, all my other services are OK.... my roku is a model roku 4 ,,, the internet is ok, is connect via wire/ethernet, and the download speed is 100 mb with TELMEX and 200 mb with MEGACABLE, i have two internet services via optical fiber working ok...., and I´m in MEXICO... the problem is the last update of youtube app

Youtube wont even start up on my Roku 3 this morning. It automatically reboots. I've done it 3 times now. Is anyone else having this issue?

I have same crash on Roku 3.  Opening the youtube channel crashes Roku every time, even after the restart.  For me the fix was to wait for roku restart and then open a different app/channel first.  Then, I can go back and open the youtube channel without it crashing.  

Then, it's ok for a few days. Crashed again. Did the same as above, and working again.   Looks like something gets stuck in persistent memory. Opening a different app first seems to fix the issue for me

For what it's worth, I splurged on a new Roku Express at Walmart and the YouTube app works fine on it.

Yep, same behaviour for me on my Roku 3. Hopefully this gets fixed with a patch. I do plan to upgrade to a new Roku sometime soon, but I'd prefer to do so voluntarily rather than have apps start bricking it.

I'm having the same issue on 2 of my Roku 3 devices. Just noticed it crashing today 1/23/2021 when I open the YouTube app on either one.

You tube has been crashing since 01/19/2021. From yesterday, it has stopped working completely
