After the latest YouTube update this app does not work on Roku anymore. I removed the app and then reinstalled it and it did work once again. However I've had to do this four times now. It always stops working after a few days. This is unacceptable and as far as I'm concerned the app is broken. Having to reinstall it every few days is not a solution. This YouTube app is more trouble than it's worth.

When you reinstall an app, you need to make sure you RESTART (Settings/System/System restart/Restart) after removing the app, and before reinstalling it:
1) Remove the app (Highlight the app, press the Options (*) button on the remote, then Remove)
2) RESTART the Roku (Settings/System/System restart/Restart) <-- MUST DO THIS HERE!!!
3) Re-install the app
Otherwise, settings/cached data associated with the app are left behind and it wont be a clean re-install.
As far as the YT app itself goes, you need to direct all those issues to Google, since they develop it.
I have tried removing, rebooting and re-installing, it works for a bit but a day or so later the issue comes back.
I do not need the list of 7 things, the best "temporary" solution for me is
1. Settings
2. System
3. System Update.
4. Check Now
This works for me, now maybe others need to get the YouTube App updated first and I see no harm in removing app, rebooting and reloading app, but now all I do are the 4 steps above and it works for me for at least a day.
I guess at some point the Dev's will figure out their mistake and will not bother to tell us, but we will notice the issue not happening anymore.

I have a Hisense Roku tv. YouTube app stopped working yesterday, June 19 2021. Only response was the blip sound when clicked. While my system update said it was up to date I just updated it again and YouTube is working again.

Having the same issue on my Roku Premiere.
I tried the suggested method of removing the app restarting ROKU and downloading the app . This did not resolve the Sacred Sounds app issue. Really disappointed...as I listen to this app for my work at home white noise....
And yes, I did pay thru January of 2022
I had the same issue with it not working this morning. I deleted the app, re-installed and is working fine.
Similar problem with an older device, YouTube was working great for years then in June, it just stopped working. Deleting the app followed by re installation works for a few days then it fails and we do it again. No reboot needed. Annoying certainly but workaround seems to be consistent at least.
Roku - please troubleshoot and determine how to not have to go through this.
