I did the system update, didn't work. I cannot get the Youtube app to launch. I have about 15 ROKU TV's, I removed the YouTube TV app because I thought I could just reinstall but then I heard there is a disagreement between ROKU and YouTube TV? How can I view Youtube TV if ROKU won't let me download either YouTube App or the YouTube TV app. Is there a work around?
YouTube is the workaround - open YT, select "YouTube TV" in the lower left corner of the UI
If YT wont open, try the list:
Known solutions/workarounds for YT not loading/closing to Home:
1) Check for updates: Settings/System/System update/Check now - try again
2) Restart Roku: Settings/System/System restart/Restart - try again
3) Change your Theme to the Roku Default: Settings/Theme/Restore default theme - try again
4) Change your Screensaver to a Roku clock: Settings/Theme/Screensavers - try again
5) Remove SD card (if installed) - try again
6) Remove app, RESTART ROKU: Settings/System/System restart/Restart, Add app - try again
7) Network connection reset: Settings/System/Advanced system settings/Network connection reset - try again
😎 Completely unplug power from Roku for 10-15 minutes - try again
9) Factory reset: Settings/System/Advanced system settings/Factory reset <--- last resort
NOTE for #6: Do not remove the YouTube TV app - you will not get the app back until the end of the dispute
I have the same issue with Roku suddenly not working with YouTube. Tried all of the steps without success. Tried to reinstall app and it will not download. I see now that the app is a victim of the dispute between Roku and google (as am I now). I guess it is my fault for not investigating further to see posts that warn not to delete and try reinstalling the app. This dispute apparently has gone on for months without resolution. Here’s mine…buy a fire stick. It works fine.

What is going on, please!
Why have there been continuous problems with You Tube TV for several months?
Why is ROKU allowing these issues to persist? ROKU is virtually useless to me if they can't support the streaming TV provider of my choice. I will switch to another device if this continues.
I am very disappointed.
Try the workarounds/solutions list posted further up the page, especially the higlighted items (#3 and #4)
Roku doesnt design, code, develop or maintain the YT or YTTV apps - Google does, so you should direct complaints and criticisms of the increasing size and sloppy coding of YT/YTTV to them.
Roku does however design, code, develop and maintain RokuOS including the firmware, middleware (including their Themes and Screensavers) and their apps (The Roku Channel, Live TV on TRC, Roku Media Player, etc), and there is a lot of sloppy code concerning memory management especially on low memory models (512MB) that is a significant source of this app loading issue, so you should feel free to complain to Roku about it
YouTube app stopped working last night. All other channels are loading and work fine-- only YouTube has the issue.

Thanks! It didn't work the first time but I tried again. Now it's loading. Yah!
