YouTube could not be run, could not be reinstalled from the network

Jump to solution

I got home from work and I went to put on YouTube. And it will not load. I keep getting the message. YouTube could not be run because it could not be reinstalled from the network please check your network connection and try again. I have reset my modem I have removed the channel. And all I get is a zero when it tries to load and then I get the network error message. It's been working fine up until today. Anybody have any idea?

YouTube and YouTube TV won't load on my 2 Roku 3800R Sticks. My Roku Premiere, Roku 2, Roku Express, and Roku TV are all getting both, but not the two sticks.

Try:

  1. Network connection reset (Settings/System/Advanced system settings)
  2. Change theme to Roku Default (Settings/Theme/Theme packs)
  3. Change screensaver to a Roku clock (Settings/Theme/Scrensaver)
  4. Check for updates (Settings/System/System update/Check now)

Re: YouTube tv and YouTube not loading

Hi everyone,

Thanks for the posts and your patience while we worked to resolve this issue. We have identified the cause and this issue has now been fixed.

For clarification, if you are experiencing an issue with Youtube (or other channels) that state the channel could not run because it could not be reinstalled from the network, please apply the latest fix by following the instructions below to manually check for a software update.

  1. Press the Home button on your Roku remote.
  2. Scroll up or down and select Settings.
  3. Select System.
  4. Select System update.
  5. Select Check Now to manually check for update.

If you are experiencing another issue, not related to what has been described above, we would recommend creating a new post stating what the issue is in detail.

We will be closing this thread out.

Thanks,
Danny

I am getting the same message and Prime will not load for me either.  I've already posted in this area but no help here it seems.

I just tried YouTube on my Premiere and it loaded no problem. What model Roku do you have (model number, not just the name) and what version Roku OS are you on?

I was getting the same message and Prime would not load either.  I kept getting the not enough space message.  I just got bot solved with a live person at Roku that I had to connect with through Prime Video Support.  I'm using a Roku Express 3900 but this is what we did.

  1. Unplug Roku for 5 seconds then plug it back in
  2. Check app for update by pressing */check for update
  3. Check for system update by using Settings/System/System update/Check now  (even though mine updated this morning it downloaded 4 updates)
  4. Uninstall the app (in my case it was Prime but this fixed Youtube too)
  5. Restart the Roku using Settings/System/System restart
  6. Reinstall the app

Mine launched and I was able to sign in online with the code to register my device.....this was Prime.  When I checked Youtube it launched and I didn't sign in.  REGULAR Youtube NOT Youtube TV

YouTube and YouTube TV won't load on my 2 Roku 3800R Sticks. It may have something to do with the latest update, but I don't know.  I'm getting the message,  "YouTube could not be run because it could not be reinstalled from the network please check your network connection and try again." It worked!  Thank you very much!  We love the Aquatic Life Screensaver, so after doing the Default Theme and The Clock, we decided to change the screensaver back to Aquatic Life, and it still worked! Thanks again!!!!

I also prefer the Aquatic Life screensaver, though if the problem happens again, you'll need to do the process again, and perhaps leave it on another simpler screensaver (and/or theme).
