I’m still getting the ‘can’t run channel’ error message when I try to launch either YouTube or YouTube TV even though this issue has supposedly been solved and I followed the instructions to resolve the issue. Also, I can’t run Apple TV either.
I am still getting the same error on multiple apps. I even applied their "latest" fix by following the steps for a manual update. IT DIDN'T WORK! How is this getting resolved? I have a roku Express. I did a factory reset, which seemed to work on only one roku box. Im beyond frustrated. Im paying for services I can't use because this issue HAS NOT been resolved as stated. Please let its know how to fix.
Unfortunately Roku's solution was a limited/partial workaround at best:
ATTENTION: If you still cant load YouTube/YouTube (or other apps):
1) Check for updates: Settings/System/System update/Check now
2) Restore the default theme: Settings/Theme/Restore default theme
3) Use a simple screensaver: Settings/Theme/Screensavers/Roku Digital Clock/Set as screensaver
4) Load YT/YTTV/apps
** EVEN IF YOU ALREADY PERFORMED THESE STEPS, DO THEM AGAIN **
