Re: YouTube TV vs Roku negotiations

If Roku loses YouTubeTV, Roku will lose my business and MANY others who use both YouTube and YouTubeTV.

Roku, get serious and stop being so stubborn!

Re: YouTube TV vs Roku negotiations

I agree, the issue appears to be on the Roku side more than Google, or Amazon / Prime!!!!

Re: YouTube TV vs Roku negotiations

If the information Roku is providing is accurate, and I see no reason for them to misconstrue it since Google could refute it easily, I'm on Roku's side on this issue. If Google really is pushing for what Roku says they are, then Google is in the wrong. Of course, if I simply must watch YouTube, I have a plethora of device choices, even without Roku. But I feel this is a case of Google being a bully and Roku is standing up to them. I'll most likely do without YouTube if push comes to shove.

Roku and YouTube TV Should I purchase Youtube TV knowing the issues that exist with Roku?

I'm cutting the cable company and going to an Internet only service for streaming and other uses. I'm wanting to buy YouTube TV for live and streaming but understand there are issues with YouTube and Roku.  What do uses of these services suggest I do?

Tricky to know.

I have seen some commentary that customers who already have YouTube will be able to keep it, may need to buy and subscribe in the next few days to qualify, may already be too late.

If YouTubeTV access is a deal breaker, then maybe chose something else as alternative or in addition to Roku

Roku has to know that if I've already lost youtubeTV and have to use a work-around, and then I lose AMAZON PRIME, I am definitely going to leave Roku. I don't care who they stand up to or don't stand up to. They need to provide the basic gd streaming channels. FIX IT, ROKU.

OK, I'll bite. You wrote

How did you lose YTTV, Yes Roku has really screwed NEW users, by not allowing them to add Yttv, but old users like me have been able to add new devices and keep Yttv.

Prime is a problem?? Actually I have seen some stutter, on Late Night Netflix, but Prime has remained the same. What device are you using?? If you are using a SmartTV , you are on your own... 90% or more of the problems with Roku on redit are with SmartTV's when people finally tell you the device they are using.

You are right if Roku drops Yttv then I am gone and already have bought a backup GoogleTv for $50 ,  there are cheaper versions running Android GoogleTV.

Prime is in jeopardy, too, if they don't get this resolved. That's what the latest articles are saying. I guess I meant IF Prime goes.

Re: YouTube TV vs Roku negotiations

Thanks, I have not seen this, can you pt. to an article.

That said WTF is Roku thinking. All I got is Yttv,Prime, and Netflix is given to me by someone else. Glad I only bought Roku devices on sale, still I will be over $100 in lost devices, and another $100 in replacement devices if either is gone. What will a typical 4 member family do.

I haven’t read all the articles, but don’t be too quick to blame only Roku.  Google owns YTTV and is trying to tell Roku how to showcase YTTV on its platform.

I also subscribe to Prime and Netflix and it take two to tango.  Just hope the dancing stops and these channels remain for old and new members.
