Really do not follow. If you do not have YttV then I guess you are not paying $65 a month like the rest of the subscribers. If you are a subscriber why do you not have the app installed.
If you have a 7day free trial then why not try casting from your smartphone, just install the app, go to the upper right corner and cast to your Roku. Once the cast is done you can turn off the phone. If you are a new customer contact Google , they might send you a free GoogleTV (which is really their brand of Roku).
Me Everything is working for now , but I just ordered a $50 GoogleTV. I cannot wait to see who Roku will decide to fight with next. They are a small hardware maker, which because of Netflix and YTTv have a large network, which they may be in the processing of destroying .
It should noted that this is not a scam. Have seen this from several different news organization sources. Also received an email on this from Google. Currently you can not start YouTube TV service using Roku. Current YouTube TV costumers can still use on Roku, but this may change. The dispute has nothing to do with money. All I know is if Roku and YouTube TV do not work it out, I will be buying a Amazon Fire Stick, to replace Roku.
They cannot block yttv. Google owns yttv and they make the device. So it will always be there. Roku is not theirs product so they dont care. But ccgtv will always have yttv since they make it and also own yttv.
My position is pretty much the same. YouTube TV is more important to me than Roku so if YouTube TV disappears, Roku gets replaced with something else. I like Roku. I don't want to change to something else, but I get my TV through YouTube TV and I don't know of any other platform which offers all the features I want.
I find these pissing-matches between corporate titans to be incredibly annoying. Peacock, HBOMax, Spectrum, and now YouTube TV. Roku claims that they are trying to protect us from unreasonable demands, but Google says that they are just asking for the same terms as in the last contract -- I felt that I was protected just fine in the last contract.
Some of the things Roku is claiming as unreasonable demands sound perfectly reasonable to me -- if I do a search in YouTube TV why would I want to see search results for anywhere but YouTube TV? I'll bet it works that way now, but I can't tell because I don't have a remote which does search so if I'm in YouTube TV I would be using their search function.
"Additionally, the Alliance's seven founding members – Amazon, Cisco, Google, Intel, Microsoft, Mozilla and Netflix – announced that the initial focus of the video format would be delivery of high-quality web video"
It's Standard, AV1 is where it will go, Just like Blu-ray and HD DVD battle, biggest pockets wins.
Hi! I have YouTube TV that I play on Roku not enabled TVs so have separate Roku devices on each TV. I seen the emails from YouTube and Roku each blaming each other . My TV is now fuzzy on YouTube TV and I can't fix it. I can watch it fine on my desktop computer but casting it to the TV still fuzzy. Should I just cancel YouTube tv. I don't have Netflix or Disney plus or Hulu. This was my way of watching tv. Is there a phone number to talk to someone at Roku?? I have unplugged my router and Roku and still fuzzy even on my library. Any ideas?
I too will just use firestick and have you tube tv. Our be room tvs are firestick and why not our son living room tv. Also my mom's tv go to firestick. Darn you Roku. And YTtv? I'll switch to Sling. Darn u too You tube tv.
