I have used Roku for about 8 years now, we have 6 Rokus, of different models. The rest of my family uses other platforms to stream and are on me to change. I do like Roku for it's easier interface, BUT if these disputes continue I will change. I am of a different mindset, and buy pretty basic TV s and then use streaming devices, that way I am not so fully vested in any one platform. If a piece fails I just replace the piece. There are quite a few other streaming devices out there, price wise very competitive, and I don't seem to hear about all these disputes. Let's settle this soon, and try to all get along.
My siblings and I bought a Roku TV for my parents for Christmas and talked them into cutting the cable cord. I have YouTube TV on my current Roku TV’s. They are coming in today from their winter home and YouTube TV app is completely gone ! ! the ONLY reason we bought this tv for convenience. It’s now 4 months old and we are basically stuck with a TV that they can’t stream YouTube TV on. I don’t think any of these messages are going to change Roku’s mind on a contract with YouTube and there is no one to call on this matter.
Youtubetv has raised prices three times and the last straw was their letter. They cut ties with all the Fox Regional Channels and I have been unable to watch my local sports teams. Google can take a hike and piss off for good.
It sounds to me like Roku is trying to stop big YouTube of bullying Roku into higher prices. Am I wrong? How many times has Youtube raised prices in the last few years. Youtube is not innocent in my mind. Far from it!
Roku, Please pass this on. We use YouTube TV service and have just heard that you are planning to remove this from your platform. If this happens, I will replace all devices in my home with another service that supports YouTube TV as this is what we use. Please do not remove this access from your service.
I am a senior. I don't have a smart TV. I spent SO MUCH time setting up Roku and YouTube TV a year ago. It can be slow getting to YouTube TV but it's fine. I really don't want to change again. PLEASE resolve your issues!! I will stay with Roku & YouTube while you do. As is so often said "Can't everybody just get along?" Do your communicating and compromising and KEEP YouTube TV! Beth
