Sorry, but I'm getting tired of Roku trying to get a cut from every app. HBOMax, Peacock, YTTV. They have convinced me to ditch their platform entirely.
I will probably be moving from roku to Apple TV roku is just not worth it. They have basically none of the apps that I like.
Dear Roku,
I've been a Roku customer since the early days, and have purchased many Roku devices over the years. It's a great platform, easy to use, and has served us well.
However, with the recent removal of the Spectrum app, and now with the possible removal of the YouTube TV app, my loyalty to Roku is in question. Certainly we'd all like these apps to be integrated into the Roku experience. But it comes down to this: If my family can't watch the content that's most important to us on Roku, features such as searching and other user experience perks are irrelevant, and the Roku platform is no longer of any use to us.
I've added a couple other competing devices over the last several years, and they work fine. While I'd much rather stick with Roku, the bottom line is that I can watch my content on other devices. If my core content providers aren't available on Roku, why in the world would I stay with Roku? Please don't pretend that this is about protecting the user experience, when Roku users are the ultimate losers in this disagreement.
Roku please look at this guys post.

It sounded to me that Roku was not in agreement with YouTubes continuing egregious behavior:
"we cannot accept Google's unfair and anticompetitive requirements to manipulate your search results, impact the usage of your data and ultimately cost you more. "
People, wake up! Finally a company not playing these games with these corporate political hacks!
Good for you Roku! Others should follow!
I think it is because roku wants people to use the roku service like the roku channel and not YouTube tv.
I tried fubo tv before YouTubeTV but I couldn't get my local news stations so I had to reluctantly go with YouTubeTV. The way I see it though is that if you are fine with CNN then I see no reason why you wouldn't be an ardent supporter of Google as well. They both only show you what they want you to see.
Propoganda channel....Chinese News Network, please wake up person.........
That is not true and I disagree with you. But I do use google products like a google home but I am willing to switch to Apple TV if roku takes down YouTube tv.
