I had a fancy to watch the 1970 version of "The Railway Children" and, using the Roku app, found it being streamed on the Tubi app. So, I started it streaming and found that the 2000 TV movie was actually being streamed. I am not complaining because I still watched & enjoyed it, but was a bit disappointed that the movie wasn't the expected 1970 version as shown on the Roku app.
Unfortunately, the Roku search function only provides results from the providers that make that information available to them. In this case, Tubi provided inaccurate information to Roku, and since Roku does have access to the media itself there's no way to verify the accuracy of the information provided. In fact, there's really no way to confirm that a title is correct without someone actually watching it to see if it matches. If Tubi has the wrong info in their database, there's no way for Roku to identify that. I have seen the same thing happen with broadcast TV, with the listing showing a different title/year than the one actually broadcast.
About all you could do it to contact Tubi and tell them their title isn't matching the info page, due to the same title for different movies.
