Why was the International House of Prayer channel removed?

You would need to contact the developers. Not sure what the channel was. If it was just a specific church, they may have simply shut it down. Roku would not be involved unless there was some form of copyright violations.

It looks like the channel is indeed no longer available on the Roku Channel store and cannot be located in the channel search. 

At times, our content providers may choose to remove their channel from our platform at their own request. In other cases, a channel may be removed by us if it violates our terms and conditions. We take reports of piracy or any other unlawful activity very seriously.

In recent weeks, many outdated channels/apps have been removed from the Roku platform.  Could be either the channel developer needs to update their coding for their Roku channel/app or simply decided not to maintain a Roku presence anymore.
