Just to be clear, YTT stopped working ONLY on my Roku device (attached to a non-smart tv) where YTT has been working perfectly for the past two years. I also have YTT on a smart tv that has the YTT app on it. YTT still works perfectly on the smart tv. It just no longer works on the tv with the Roku on it. Apparently the smart tv is not in negotiations with Roku.
Really?!??? I may not have gone to MIT so I'm not very technically advanced. I'm not quite sure what you are referring to about Google. This is a Roku stick where YTT has been working perfectly for the past two years now. It stopped. I get an error message saying I have no network connection. Yet ALL other apps on the Roku stick work fine. It is NOT a question of the network not working. All the other apps on the same network work fine. All the apps, including YTT, on my smart tv in another room work fine. You say "some people are experiencing issues with the YTT app". Scanning this forum and scanning the internet shows it to be quite a few people, not some. Here are some facts; several weeks ago I received an email from Roku advising me that you are in a dispute with YTT and you suggested I contact YTT, I assume to help your cause?. So clearly there is a dispute between Roku and YTT. YTT has worked fine on my Roku on this exact same TV for over two years. All other apps on the Roku device work perfectly, except YTT. YTT works fine on my smart tv, which is on the same mesh network as the Roku device. In summary, before the dispute YTT worked fine on the Roku. Now it doesn't. But it works fine on the smart tv (that does not have a dispute with YTT). You draw your own conclusions.
I have an old and very new Roku device. the issue isn't technical, it's a dispute btw roku and YTT. it's sad they both have forsaken their customers.
Is that a response to me? Because, if you bother to read my signature, I don't work for Roku. I sent you no email. I'm a user, just as you are a user. Sure, I've used Roku for a while, and have pretty decent knowledge about the device and helping resolve issues, but I'm not from Roku.
And, yes, there are some people experiencing issues with the YouTube TV app not working, but you seem to overlook the fact that there are millions of Roku devices in use, and the number of reports of YouTube TV issues on this forum is a very small percentage. I'm not saying the issues aren't important, but if it was Roku not letting YouTube TV work, it would impact a lot more people. I'll draw my conclusions, but I'll try to not draw the wrong ones. You try to not draw the wrong ones either.

Youtube stopped working for me today as well. It tries to open, then it just cancels out and goes back to the Home screen. I tried restarting the device, updating the device, uninstalling and reinstalling the app, as well as doing a full on factory reset. Nothing worked.
I'm very disappointed about this, as Youtube was one of the only things I watched.
I was having problems with 1 TV not not loading only Youtube TV channel. All the rest of my channels work fine. So I removed it and went to install it. Now Roku can't find it when searching in channels. I have power cycled it and checked for updates. No luck. Why would removing it cause this issue?
Yes my device is compatible and have been using it since the beginning of the year..
Thanks
Google & Roku have had an ongoing well-publicized carriage dispute regarding the YT TV app since earlier this year - if you remove the YTTV app you wont get it back until the dispute is over.
In the meantime you can access YTTV through YT: Open YT, select "YouTube TV" in the lower left corner of the UI.
The YouTube TV app not being available has been the case for many months, ever since the contract for Roku to carry the app ran out. As you now know, removing the app from your Roku device makes it no longer available for you.
You have also happened into the middle of an unrelated issue with the YouTube app. YouTube app version 2.20 is having issues, particularly with some 32-inch TCL Roku TVs. Other sizes and brands may also be impacted, but these have been confirmed.
YouTube app version 2.21 works on many different Roku device models. Google determines which versions of their apps, including YouTube, are available to which Roku devices. Actually, all developers determine this, but for YouTube, it's Google.
Once Google decides to push an update to 2.20, or make 2.21 or another version available to the impacted devices, things should go back to normal.
As a temporary workaround, some of the channels you watch with YouTube TV may have their own standalone Roku app. If so, you may be able to authenticate against YouTube TV with the apps.

I have the same issue with youtube. I did follow all steps which had been sugested but it didn't fix the problem. The channel seems like uploading but then it goes straight to the home page with no error messages. Please help to fix my Sharp Smart Roku TV.
This just happened to me on all my devices of different ages. The newer TCL smart tvs still have Youtube and I can get to YoutubeTV through that. But my older Insignia drops the Youtube app as well when I try to open it. I have tried all the suggestions as well. Reboot. Reset. Uninstall and Reinstall. Any other ideas?
