Why are major channels not available on my Roku? (Based in Philippines)

Jump to solution

I'm based in the Philippines and I bought a Roku stick two months ago. Upon installation, channels like Disney+ Discovery+, HBO Max, ESPN, CNN, Roku Channel are not available. The list of channels that I can see from the selection are very limited. Kindly assist

If you go to Roku's website and click on the country selector in the lower right corner, you'll see that the Philippines is unfortunately not one of the countries Roku supports.  In unsupported countries, Rokus can be somewhat limited and perhaps tricky.  It seems that even though some channels have their content licensed for places Roku doesn't yet support, they choose not to support their channel on Roku if Roku themselves don't support a specific country.

Where are you located?  Some channels are only available in some regions, and Roku themselves don't (yet?) support some regions.
