While streaming, it automatically takes it back to the Home Screen

Hello,

I have a TCL 8113X, model 40S325 while in the middle of steaming while watching different apps at different times. I can only watch it for like 10-30 mins and automatically goes to the Home Screen. I have reset the tv, re-downloaded those apps again and I’m still experiencing the same issue. Please help!

Thanks!

Re: While streaming, it automatically takes it back to the Home Screen

We are having exactly that same problem only it only lasts about a minute each time on Amazon and Netflix the movie / show just shuts off and goes back to the Roku home screen it's a Hisense TV can you tell me what's going on? Nothing we do fixes this there must have been some kind of update that screwed up viewing we've never had this problem before with the same TV.

How do we fix this?

@Lam1   @Leximom_38

Known solutions/workarounds for apps not loading/closing to Home:

1) Check for updates: Settings/System/System updates/Check now - try again

2) Change your Theme to the Roku Default: Settings/Theme/Restore default theme - try again

3) Change your Screensaver to a Roku clock: Settings/Theme/Screensavers - try again

4) Remove SD card (if installed) - try again

5) Remove YT app, RESTART ROKU: Settings/System/System restart/Restart, Add YT app - try again

6) Network connection reset: Settings/System/Advanced system settings/Network connection reset - try again

7) Completely unplug power from Roku for 10-15 minutes - try again

😎 Factory reset: Settings/System/Advanced system settings/Factory reset <--- last resort

NOTE for #5: Do not remove the YouTube TV or Spectrum app - you will not get the app back until the end of the dispute

It's possible that your Roku is overheating. If it's a TV, make sure any cables behind it are not blocking any vents. But if a Roku TV is overheating, that is a hardware issue, and you would have to take that to the TV manufacturer. I saw one person mention TCL and another mention Hisense. Those companies would have to address hardware issues.
