Greetings Roku Community,
I recently purchased two Philips Roku TVs, a 65" 974 Series OLED Model# 65OLED974/F7 and a 32" 6500 Series LED Model# 32PFL6573/F7. This question applies to both devices, which have up-to-date software with no currently available updates.
When performing a Roku-search either via voice or manually typed, I sometimes encounter consistently inconsistent app results, namely with "Paramount+" (hereafter "P+") standalone app and "Paramount+ on RokuChannel" (hereafter "P+Roku"). Just to be clear, I do have an active "P+" account directly through Paramount, not through a 3rd party like Walmart+ or other, and I have never had any subscription of any sort through RokuChannel.)
Two examples: the films "Gladiator 2" and "Interstellar". Selecting the appropriate "Gladiator 2" result expectedly produces the correct streaming apps available that offer this title, among them include "P+" and "P+Roku". But when selecting the appropriate "Interstellar" result, I am provided similar results including "P+Roku" but no standalone "P+" app. These results are consistent when performed for the same title, but no rhyme or reason for why standalone "P+" is ever absent when "P+Roku" isn't. I would assume that if it's available on "P+" then "P+" would be among said title's results, not just "P+Roku" (I have only tested this for "Paramount+" results, not HBO, Disney, Peacock, etc.).
When the latter example occurs, I am unable to watch the selection on "P+" via the Roku search because I am not presented that result and must subsequently return to Roku home and manually open the "P+" app and navigate/search for the title again from within the standalone app. This is not the biggest deal but it does introduce extra steps and detracts from the search functionality that I've grown to appreciate about Roku over others, like Google TV flooding the top of my query list with YouTube results.
Is this search result behavior something that I can change, or perhaps just a matter of certain titles missing a proper app association on the Roku side of things?
Thank you for your time and take care.
