The Newsreader programming as shown in Roku Blog

Jump to solution

Greetings,

I'm looking to find where The Newsreader is located on the Roku Channel as described on the Roku Blog. Here is the link Multi-award-winning Aussie drama The Newsreader makes U.S. debut as Roku Original

Does anyone know where to find this programming? I've done an exhaustive search and have not been able to find it.

Thanks in advance

@MJDaniels

Apparently,  "The Newsreader" did premiere on the Roku Channel under the Roku Originals back in March. (In Search feature, type in Roku Originals and will take you to Roku Originals Zone or Roku Originals for your Consideration).  Alternatively, you can launch Roku Channel, and look to the left (the icon/letter R)  will also take you to the Roku Originals.

However, it does not appear that it is currently streaming on Roku Channel or elsewhere currently. (or at least legally for which a link can be provided).  The Newsreader does look like it contains 6 episodes for Season 1.   I really don't know why Roku would stop offering it so quickly after their Premiere, but it should return eventually.

Unfortunately, Roku does not do the best job of announcing when a program is scheduled to appear/reappear (other than initial announcement) or disappear.  Best I can offer, besides checking occasionally, usually monthly, is to add the actress "Anna Torv" or actor "Sam Reid" to the "My Feed" feature on your Home Screen.  This way, should be alerted when The Newsreader becomes available to stream again.

To add an actor to the My Feed, use similar procedure for following content.  Type the actor/actress in the "Search" feature from your Home Screen and select "Follow this Person".
